Sometimes life puts little pebbles in our path for us to trip over – an unforeseen outcome to a well-planned action – there are many things that could be seen as a pebble (or worse a rock) that throws our entire rhythm off. There are however a few key affirmations that I live by that can be helpful, not only in one area of your life, but in all area’s, work, home, relationship, family and business.
These affirmations help us to reinforce the loving aspects of who we are, to be happy every day, to be positive and to get back up after we experience challenges.
I can’t wait to share with you the seven key affirmations that I live by on a regular basis and how I get through my everyday challenges as a business owner, lawyer and mum.
We need to be kind to ourselves and realise that no one is perfect and that we are ALL a work in progress. In essence, we need to lean into to who we are and live our own authentic life, loving ourselves for who we are now. Taking the time to find yourself will improve your day to day life, forever. Accepting that you are a work in progress and we are not perfect and neither is our life truly does set you up for success and happiness.
Everything in life happens for a reason. Overall, we can create the future that we desire or want, but there will be aspects out of our control and perfection is never achievable. Trying to control all external events will prove futile. The only things that we can control are ourselves, our emotions, our perceptions and how we act in the next conversation we have, the next hours and the next couple days, which will ultimately impact our future. In essence, we can only control the internal – us – which is ok. This can be a difficult concept but if we can understand and accept this part of life you will be stronger and wiser.
Stop trying to control everything, let it go and enjoy all aspects of your life in a deeper way.
Holding a grudge is not good for us, really that is the only person that it truly impacts. It creates a negative energy inside of us, prevents further healing and possibly the love of your life from entering your life. Be thankful for the past, it made you the person that you are today. As hard as it is to accept when you come out of a bad relationship, have had horrible things happen to you, had addictions or had a traumatic health scares. There will have been good things that came out of past, there is no doubt. I have many amazing things to be grateful for from my past, without it I wouldn’t be me for a start.
Your past, not matter what it is has shaped you to the beautiful human that you are today.
Experience life to the fullest in a way that serves you. Go do something you were scared to do before, you owe it to yourself to enjoy life. Life is full of amazing, healthy and fun adventure, if you want it.
You do not need to be more than you are right now. Take time to heal and work through anything you need to, take time to laugh, take time with your children and enjoy the small things in life. Gratefulness pushes us into positive energy, which helps our mood. Laugh more, enjoy more, and love more. Let go of the perception that you need to be someone else’s ideal.
That is not to say we should stop growing and expanding, but we should also not always try to conform to other perceptions, wants and needs as to who we should be or how we should act. You have always been enough, you are enough now and your future self is enough.
External events have the capability to shape us, and often, impact our future. Yet, if we take the time to look at things from an outside perspective we have the opportunity to view what has happened more objectively and gain the knowledge that external events only have power over us if we allow them to have.
Therefore, whenever external events occur that are not favorable to you, examine them and choose a different path. In the process will you learn a lot about yourself and come to understand more about who you would like to be and who not from this day onward and in the future. This is the beauty of life, it is how we grow and expand our consciousness to live a happier, healthier and blessed life.
Living by these affirmations have given me peace, new energy, and an amazing future. You can have the same! Finding happiness is a path that no one can walk for you, it is you who must decide what makes you happy and how you will achieve true happiness in your life. The key to happiness is to be grateful for how one’s life is.
